II Project Parameters

 

Site: Kongens Nytorv (King’s New Square), Denmark

Objective: Design a seven-story 5 star restaurant and upscale cocktail lounge.

 

II Concept

​

To emulate a sense of innovative timeless luxury. The goal is to establish an experiential atmosphere that reflects the city of Copenhagen offering an experience of both traditional and modern design, through the use of technology and architectural elements with a focus on sustainability. 

​

The dining experience will focus on elevating and refining traditional dishes from specific time periods in Denmark’s history. The idea is for the guest to first choose a time period and is then handed a menu according to the dishes from that time. In addition, the menu will change by season in relation to which ingredients are at their peak. Through this process, the guest will experience a sense of excitement and mystery while learning something about the past and present Denmark. 

The overall atmosphere and experience of this 5-star restaurant and upscale cocktail lounge, from the facade to the interior, and the menu will embody an innovative timeless luxury that highlights the origin of Denmark’s capital city of Copenhagen.
